"The Command Radio" is an explosively experimental, soulpowered, Rock n' Roll machine from New Jersey combining rock vocals with a funky horn section and rhythms. Their unique sound can be compared to that of Led Zeppelin and Stevie Wonder with an edgy twist. With 2 full-length albums, a spot on Bamboozle 07, and now a feature on Book Student Activities: this is one band that is going to be a hit with the college crowd.
Booking Gigs at Colleges
I know you're here at Book Student Activities because you're asking yourself a question: "What's the first thing I need to know about booking my band at a college?" Well, the first thing you need to know and fully understand is that Student Activities Advisors literally get bombarded with phone calls, e-mails, and ups packages from hundreds upon hundreds of groups or solo acts, like yourself, who are looking to break into the college entertainment market. If this idea scares you, turn back now.
The second thing you need to know is that getting signed to a supposed "College Booking Agency" isn't the end of the line for you either. You won't be able to just kick back your heels and relax forever when signing such a contract because your agency might 1. not book you at all and leave you sitting home while it books its more favored artists at the colleges the talent agency maintains contact with while stringing you along until you slowly but surely dwindle all your savings to nothing or 2. Book you for a short while and then drop your contract. Let's face it, they are trying to make a living too. If you are not the most marketable person in the world, you don't stand a chance with these talent sharks. Agency or no agency, you can't or shouldn't rely on anyone but yourself to really get your band booked consistently enough to make a career out of music. That is why the information here at Book Student Activities is invaluable to the indie musician who is looking to bring their music to the college market
If you are scared now, you probably should be. I sat down with a physician once and the two of us were talking about our careers. I have been a full time musician for the past 5 years, booking shows on two continents and opening for some of the biggest names in music. And the physician told me he was CONVINCED that it was more difficult to become a full time musician than a doctor.

Music Booking Agency Directory
Now, if you didn't read the post entitled "Booking Gigs at Colleges" please turn back and read that page before you start this one. As I mentioned before, just because you sign a contract with a talent agency, doesn't mean you will no longer have to work hard at getting your band booked. Starting out with any company means you are starting on the bottom and you have to work your way up.
Simply put: don't become lazy once the contract is signed. You have to work harder to keep the talent contract than you did to get it.
If you must go the booking agency route, who am I to deny you the information? That is why I've put together a comprehensive list of booking agencies in the United States along with contact information, preferred methods of contact, and a partial artist roster list for you to compare your band or solo act to.
If you are interested in the Music Booking Agency Directory please contact me today to find out how to get it.
